Alma Adams' Ethics Probe

Rep. Alma Adams, 79, who has served in Congress since 2014, was the subject of a 2022 complaint from a high-ranking staffer alleging she became "extremely close" with another employee, Sandra Brown, creating a hostile work environment. The Ethics Committee interviewed several former aides across roughly nine months in 2023, examined Brown’s self-published novel written under the pen name SaVette Brown, and ultimately closed the matter, finding no violation or inappropriate relationship.
