Rescue teams worked late into the evening searching for the missing individual, but sadly, their efforts yielded no results. The operation involved the sea rescue team, a helicopter, and personnel from the fire brigade, ambulance services, and police.

Warnings About Dangerous Seas

Reports indicate that some individuals managed to save themselves from the water. The state-owned broadcaster RTVE reminded the public that authorities in the Canary Islands had issued warnings about hazardous wave conditions just days prior. The natural pools, often viewed as a hidden gem by vacationers, can transform into perilous traps during rough seas, where giant waves can sweep people out to sea, and strong currents make returning to safety nearly impossible.

Just a few weeks prior, on November 8, Tenerife had experienced similar harrowing scenes, where multiple individuals were also swept into the sea, leading to three deaths and 15 injuries. The island now faces yet another tragic event.
