What prosecutors allege

Federal charging documents, unsealed May 15, identify 32-year-old Mohammad al-Saadi, an Iraqi citizen, as the accused ringleader behind an alleged campaign of attacks. He faces six terrorism-related counts and is accused of recruiting operatives, coordinating strikes and discussing targets that prosecutors say included a New York synagogue, sites in Los Angeles and Arizona and an assassination plot against exiled dissident Masih Alinejad.
