Details on the Victims

Initially, officials confirmed the deaths of two men and a woman, aged 35 and 55 respectively. A fourth woman, who was briefly revived and transported to a hospital, later succumbed to her injuries. At this time, it remains uncertain whether any Germans were among the victims.

Ongoing Search Efforts

Emergency teams continued their search for the missing individual well into the night but encountered no success. Search and rescue operations involved naval units, helicopters, and personnel from the local fire service, medical teams, and police.

Days prior to the incident, warnings had been issued about hazardous wave conditions. Many individuals reported managing to escape from the water, highlighting the unpredictable nature of the ocean during tumultuous weather. The state broadcaster RTVE noted that authorities had cautioned about dangerous waves just the day before. Typically regarded as hidden gems by tourists, the natural pools can rapidly become treacherous during rough seas, where towering waves can draw people into the open water, often making return nearly impossible. Just on November 8, Tenerife faced similar alarming situations, where waves also swept several people out to sea, resulting in three fatalities and numerous injuries. Once again, the island faces the aftermath of a deadly incident.
