A catastrophic event struck the western coast of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, during a seemingly ordinary day. As tourists enjoyed their time at the natural pools of Los Gigantes, a formidable wave surged and tragically pulled four individuals into the sea, leading to their untimely deaths. Additionally, there is one individual still unaccounted for.

The incident occurred shortly after 4 PM when many visitors were exploring the rocky shoreline and swimming. Without warning, a massive wave broke, impacting those present and dragging them into deep waters. Emergency services reported several rescues from the chaotic waters, which included tourists from various countries.

Lifesaving Efforts and Casualties

Rescue teams worked tirelessly, deploying a helicopter that successfully retrieved one person while another was found deceased. Initially, authorities confirmed the loss of two men and one woman, aged 35 and 55 respectively. Sadly, a fourth victim, another woman, was later found and despite resuscitation efforts, passed away in the hospital.
