A heart-wrenching incident has struck the picturesque west coast of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands. Tragically, four individuals were swept into the ocean by a monstrous wave near Los Gigantes, with another person still unaccounted for.

The disastrous event unfolded shortly after 4 PM at one of the area's renowned natural pools, a favorite spot among visitors. At that moment, numerous tourists were either perched on the rocks or enjoying the water when an unexpected, colossal wave crashed into them, pulling many into the deep.

According to emergency services in the Canary Islands, the overwhelming force of the water swept several people away. Among those affected were foreign tourists, as reported by Diario de Avisos. Rescue efforts were conducted by a coastguard helicopter, which managed to retrieve one survivor and recover another individual who unfortunately did not survive.

Fatalities and Ongoing Search

Initially, authorities confirmed three fatalities, including two men and one woman, aged 35 and 55 respectively. A fourth woman was later found and rushed to the hospital, where she tragically succumbed to her injuries. Current reports do not clarify whether any Germans were among the deceased.
